I want to do everything. I want to travel and try new things, and not have to worry about money or anything materialistic. I don’t want to have to worry about getting a job and paying the bills when I get out of college. why can’t life be this way? I understand how parents want what’s best for their kid. But don’t they know that their kids only want to make them proud? How does one break free from what their parents want them to be and become the person they want to be? Lots of rambling….but I want nothing more than to please my father and make him proud. I feel as though no one understands nor respects what I really want to do, because in the end it’s all about the money and the career. But it isn’t just the parents who force a child, it’s this society we live in. |
My heart belongs in New York City. Smiles and laughter are what get me by each day. Trying to find my special purpose in this life. I believe I am destined to make a change, even if it is one person's life. One of my many favorite quotes: “What are you going to do with your life?” In one way or another it seemed that people had been asking her this forever; teachers, her parents, friends at three in the morning, but the question had never seemed this pressing and still she was no nearer an answer… “Live each day as if it’s your last’, that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn’t practical. Better by far to be good and courageous and bold and to make difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance.” — Dave Nicholls (One Day) We could all lend a hand |
